Limbang Town, Sarawak

How about visiting Limbang, the historic north eastern town of Sarawak? Spend a day or more here to relax and catch up on sleep at a comfortable hotel. Visit the tamu(local markets), museum, historic landmarks or dine at the local coffeeshops. We personally suggest the fantastic Limbang Rojak and the Snowflake Ice Kacang (Frappé) shop on the outskirts of town. There is a war memorial built in 1963 to remind of the galiant efforts of the British Royal Marine 42 Commando and the Sarawak police Force, who defended and liberated Limbang during the 1962 Brunei Rebellions.

Limbang is also famous as the alternative entry into Mulu National Park. We have listed an rarely used program which takes you from historic Limbang to the mystical realm of Mulu Caves.

What do I get to do?

Hiking, swimming, visit show caves.

Itinerary and Rates (All rates in Malaysian Ringgit and per pax)

4 Days 3 Nights Walk to Mulu
Day 1 Limbang>Medamit>Mentawai>Kuala Terikan>Camp 5 (Lunch and Dinner)
7am Start land transport from Limbang to Medamit jetty, then a long boat trip upriver approximately 3 to 4 hrs. Travelling time may be shorter depending on the strength of the currents and the depth of the river. Beautiful sceneries align the river with nature sounds, stone outcrops, dangling vines, flowering trees and sudden flights of rare borneo birds as you whizz past their home and feeding ground.
Ocassionally at certain areas, you may have to help the boat men to push the boat if the water level is shallow. You will visit the Mentawai Ranger Station briefly for a break before continuing journey to Kuala Terikan where the famous Headhunter's trail begins! All 11.3 km of it! A pebbled path with intermittent plank and rope bridges built by the natives cut through the dense tropical rainforest and small rivers. You will reach Camp 5 approximately 4 hours, depending on fitness! The cool refreshing river at the end soothe your tired muscles!

Day 2 - Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
This morning, challenge yourself by climbing the Pinnacles. (Very good fitness required). Total time should be around 8 hours. Packed lunch at the view point. Return to Camp 5. Rest for the rest of the evening

Day 3 - Breakfast and Lunch
After breakfast at 7 am, we hike for 8.8 km at Melinau trail to Kuala Litut. Allowing 3 hours to cover the trail. From Kuala Litut, we ride a boat to Wind and Clear Water caves. Packed lunch at the jetty. By 1:00 pm, we proceed to Mulu Park Station. Check into our room.
At 2:30 pm, we walk to the Lang and Deer caves. Witnessing the exodus of bats at dusk.
